The American Red Cross
Since 1917, the American Red Cross, South Florida Region, is the only humanitarian organization that provides disaster relief and preparedness education to its residents. Whether it's a fire, a hurricane, or a health emergency, the Red Cross responds at a moment’s notice. The chapter serves a population of over 2.5 million residents covering 2,943 square miles. The chapter provides disaster response services 24-7 to families and individuals with emergency social services, warm meals, a place to sleep, and clothing. The chapter and its trained instructors offer a variety of courses including first aid, lifeguard training, water safety and pet first aid.
