Understand the Need of Preparedness

Every year, thousands of us find ourselves in harms way from weather disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and flash floods and wildfires – as well as earthquakes.

No one is exempt. Severe weather and in some cases weather disasters affects every U. S. state in one way or the other. In 2013 alone, we experienced a Polar Vortex and the resulting aftermath called Polar Thaw; Winter Storm Nemo that hit the Upper Midwest and New England; violent tornadoes in Oklahoma; record wildfires in the West; and what has been termed “biblical flooding” in Colorado.

Understanding the most common weather emergencies in your area, your level of risk and actions you should take to protect your property and, in some extraordinary occasions, save your life, is vital.

StormZone intensely focuses on the necessity of preparedness – well in advance of the actual event striking your community. We start with an Emergency Supply Kit that includes items like non-perishable food and water, battery powered radios and extra flashlights. Also, included is a Family Emergency Plan designed to keep you in contact with family and friends in case you are separated from them during a weather emergency. Knowing evacuation routes and community shelters is also covered.

As a StormZone visitor you will have access to these critical items in order to properly prepare in advance of a major weather event or earthquake.
